BikeRadar is looking for an SEO analyst to join the fast-growing editorial team and play a key role in the continued growth of Reporting to the editor-in-chief, BikeRadar’s SEO analyst requires a balanced skill set with an excellent knowledge of on-page and technical SEO, as well as an understanding of how to grow and engage an audience via search. As the SEO Analyst, you will assist the editor-in-chief in implementing and analysing the performance of BikeRadar’s SEO strategy, while ensuring our content is presented to, and ultimately viewed by, as many readers as possible. You will have a data-led approach to content planning, identifying content gaps/opportunities, and optimising and updating existing content. Results-focused, you will analyse, monitor and act on the ever-changing SEO landscape, using search data to inform editorial decision making.

Reporting & Auditing

Monitor day-to-day search performance using Google Search Console, Google Analytics and rank tracking tools, responding to insights quickly
Closely monitor Google SERPs for key terms day-to-day, quickly identifying keyword losses and implementing a win-back plan. Track and measure success as you go
Complete regular competitor analysis to ensure we lead the field with regards to both traffic-driving content and technical on-site best practice; identify threats and opportunities
Monitor the search performance of commerce content, advising and implementing actions to improve ranking and traffic as required
Implement redirects and technical SEO fixes as required
Identify issues that may impact SEO performance, including duplication, canniblisation, site structure and page speed
Provide feedback and data for development work to drive search performance


Undertake keyword research to understand search volumes for content planning and optimisation
Assist writers and editors with keyword research and planning to ensure content is commissioned with search front of mind
Assist the editor-in-chief in planning and optimising seasonal content across all content types ahead of key traffic peaks
Monitor emerging trends, using data to inform content optimisation and strategy
Ensure all content produced adheres to SEO best practice using text, images, and where appropriate, video
Update and optimise evergreen and commerce content
Be a champion for SEO best practice across Immediate Media's Cycling portfolio
Help to upskill writers and teams as required; be an advocate for keyword research and considering SEO before commissioning or writing content

Work with the editor-in-chief and video manager to implement best practice for video SEO on BikeRadar’s YouTube channel
Keep up-to-date on SEO best practice and continue to deepen your understanding as the search landscape evolves. Attend internal and external training to develop your knowledge

We're looking for someone who has:

Excellent understanding of SEO best practice, including but not limited to: content optimisation, keyword research, data analytics, Google SERPs and internal linking
Knowledge of how to get the most out of key SEO tools, including Google Search Console, Google Analytics and rank tracking tools
Excellent understanding of content management systems (in particular, WordPress)
A demonstrable interest in analytics and using data to enhance user experience
Highest standard of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of cycling and the cycling market
The ability to write copy to brief and house style
Strong organisational, planning and data analysis skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Flexibility and a professional approach at all times
The ability to self-supervise in order to meet deadlines

Salary: Up to £24,000
