Assistant Merchandiser

High-end cycling product distributor Saddleback is searching for a new Assistant Merchandiser to join its busy and expanding merchandising team based in Yate, Bristol.

In the dynamic role of Assistant Merchandiser, you will work closely with the Senior Merchandiser as well as other departments to deliver a smooth flow of merchandising processes within the business, ensuring stock lifecycle is efficiently managed to meet our stockists’ demands effectively.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a commercial merchandising environment either at Stock Allocator or Assistant Merchandiser level with a good understanding of stock management and ready to develop their merchandising skills.

Responsibilities:

As Assistant Merchandiser, you will report to the Senior Merchandiser and also liaise with the brand, online, sales, warehouse and logistic teams to take on the following responsibilities.

• Reviewing stock and cover at line level, identifying sales trends and issues
• Stock replenishment orders on specified brands
• Forecasting by line for suppliers
• Sales reports and analysis
• Updating the order tracker on a weekly basis including;
• Adding all POs raised
• Reporting fulfilment of deliveries
• Chasing suppliers for updates on deliveries
• Updating delivery dates on SAP
• Adding the value of POs and SOs
• Providing weekly updates to the warehouse of deliveries due in
• Working closely with the Logistics & Service Co-ordinator to monitor status of deliveries in transit
• Processing of brand packing lists and sending updates to brand managers and sales team of each delivery
• Raising POs on the system
• Checking of order confirmations
• Assisting with data management;
• Setting up products
• Data checks
• Web enabling
• Ad hoc tasks
• Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and characteristics:

• Experience in a merchandising environment
• Advanced Excel skills including formulae, vlookups and pivot tables
• Must be numerate, pro-active and tenacious
• Must be able to multi task and work well under pressure
• Extraordinary attention to detail

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:30pm.

Salary dependent on experience.
