A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
BikeRadar is looking for a content manager to take up this new position in our growing video team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering our market-leading video content to YouTube’s biggest editorially-led cycling channel. As content manager, you will generate ideas, write and edit scripts, and facilitate workflow between BikeRadar’s video and website teams. Reporting to the video manager, you will play an important role in implementing the channel’s content plan, striving to deliver informative, engaging and authoritative content to our audience of nearly 700,000 YouTube subscribers. You may also have the opportunity to become a presenter on the channel.

Research, write and edit video scripts, delivered in the appropriate tone of voice and to the highest editorial standards
Research and pitch content ideas, in line with the video and content strategies
Facilitate editorial workflow between BikeRadar’s YouTube channel and BikeRadar.com, and vice versa
Edit and reformat copy to ensure it is suitable for video
Generate new content ideas and potential content strands to engage and grow BikeRadar’s YouTube audience
Work closely with the video manager to plan and schedule content, ensuring commercial obligations and content plans are fulfilled
Collaborate with the video manager, videographers, presenters and editorial teams to ensure production schedules are established and deadlines are met
Liaise with and commission freelance writers and contributors as required
Work with the video manager, editor-in-chief and internal audience development team at Immediate Media to identify opportunities to grow video views through search
Ensure video SEO best practice is established and maintained
Produce and edit written content for BikeRadar.com as required
Conduct competitor analysis to identify content gaps and opportunities for growth
Report on the performance of content as required
Present videos as required
Keep up-to-date with trends, developments and opportunities within the broader cycling, YouTube and video markets
Work with the video and editorial teams to deliver engaging video-led content for BikeRadar’s social channels
Be a champion for quality control across the channel, ensuring videos meet the required editorial standards and are appropriate for the BikeRadar audience

A BIT ABOUT YOU
Prior experience working in digital journalism preferred
Excellent written English with a flair for writing content for a video audience that is informative, engaging and authoritative
A strong understanding what makes YouTube audiences tick
Knowledge of the YouTube Studio and video analytics
All-round knowledge of cycling technology and the cycling market
A demonstrable passion for cycling
An understanding of SEO best practice
Strong research skills, with an eye for detail and commitment to accuracy
