What we’re looking for
We’re searching for a superstar Marketing Manager based at our Preston Head Office to join our dynamic and disruptive Marketing & PR team on a maternity cover basis. We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and passionate marketeer, capable of master-minding and leading key projects and campaigns to drive our award-winning brand and digital first business forward.
Managing, delivering, and measuring key projects, you will act as a vital lynchpin between the Marketing & PR Team, Digital & E-Commerce, Product, Operations and our Retail and Commercial Teams, leading the immediate team and working with the wider teams to land collaborative, consistent and cohesive campaigns.
As one of the oldest bike brands in the world, having an interest in cycling is beneficial, but what’s most important is your passion for product marketing, brand communications and cutting-edge content creation to bring our stories across product, riders, community and collaborations to life.
A creative thinker with a can-do attitude, you’ll be involved in forming the marketing and brand plan and play a vital role in bringing it to life. Deploying and managing marketing activity across the full marketing mix, you’ll lead the management of marketing demands of the day-to-day business alongside the implementation of overarching and integrated strategic brand awareness driving campaigns as well as tactical promotional activity.
The buzz of an agile, fast-paced and dynamic business means this isn’t any ordinary role – you will get to work closely with exciting brand partners, ambassadors and influencers as well as our sponsored cycling teams and supported athletes, providing organisational support and ensuring alignment with our brand strategy and landing collaborative content to maximise ROI. Key responsibilities
• Reporting into the Head of Marketing and PR and working alongside the Commercial, Product, Digital, Retail, Customer Services teams and the Directors to strengthen the brand and the deliver sales plan.
• Work collaboratively with the leadership team and directors to develop the marketing plan and own the delivery of key projects as defined by the plan.
• Managing the launch activity and communication plan for NPD projects, preparing for future launches and provide ongoing product marketing led initiatives to enhance product awareness and maintain relevance throughout the season.
• Lead the in-house content team to be the storytellers of our brand through engaging cross-channel content curation to hero our products, partner riders and collaborations.
• Manage and execute marketing initiatives to drive product sales, brand engagement and awareness.
• Monitor market, social, digital and retail trends and identify new marketing opportunities to a widen our audience.
• Control budgets. Working with the Head of Marketing and PR ensure that the budget is adhered to with ROI maximised.
• Campaign performance. Analyse and report on campaign and activity performance identifying ways to continuously improve overall marketing output.
• Leadership and management of both the internal content creation teams and external agency relationships as well as supporting with internal communications and cross-functional delivery of the marketing plan.
• Manage the creation of a mixture of online and offline content required to deliver the multi-channel marketing plan including, ATL, BTL, web content, paid digital, organic social content and paid social ad creative, with a strong focus on maximising opportunities to promote our products, our brand as well as tactical promotional trading activity across all platforms.
• Managing key sponsorships and relationships including race teams, influencers, ambassadors and athletes providing support to calendar and operational management as required, both internally and externally.
• Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all activation is on brand, market leading and is continually raising the profile of the company in our core markets.

Key skills
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience within a marketing or communications role preferably working in the sports sector with Cycling being a further advantage (travel, lifestyle, e-retail and D2C brands also advantageous).
• Initiative / lateral thinking with great attention to detail.
• A strong command of both written and spoken English is required, additional languages an asset.
• Good presentation skills with confidence in presenting findings, analysis, and information.
• Exceptional project management experience of key ‘go-to-market’ plans for new product launches and multi-channel campaigns.
• Strong stakeholder management, with commercial acumen and an analytical mindset.
• Proficient in marketing, project management, social media & content creation.
• Experience of working with external agencies and freelance photographers, film makers and copywriters as required and with the ability to brief and manage all aspects of campaigns.
• Experience of working within tight budgets with sound understanding and reporting on campaign and activity ROI.
• This role is a fixed-term position covering for the current Marketing Manager who is going on maternity leave at the end start of June. We are looking for the incumbent to be in position for the end of May to facilitate an initial transition period where the current role holder will support in onboarding.
• Based at the Ribble HQ in Preston (but with some hybrid flexibility)
• Flexibility is required to travel to activity across the UK and potentially internationally as required.
• Our core working hours are 08:30 – 5pm but a flexible approach will be required to support the ongoing needs of the business. Benefits
