SRAM recalls Avid Single Digit 7 rim brakes
A safety recall has been issued on Avid Single Digit 7 mechanical rim brakes with a date code between June 1, 2014 and May 26, 2017.
Affected brakes are said to have been manufactured with rivets prone to working loose from the body, eventually causing failure. According to SRAM, riders risk failure of the brake or unexpected stopping distances due to the unit working loose.
Found on the rear of the brake arm, the brakes were only sold in black.
Free replacements will be sent to SRAM dealers with customers affected.
