Crowd funding underway for MTB & CX venue, Woodside Cycle Centre

Woodside Cycle Centre is an off-road race/training venue currently in construction in Cowling, near Keighley in North Yorkshire. Crowdfunding is now underway to contribute to the creation of this new MTB and CX venue, which will be managed by a community not-for-profit organisation.

Designed to enhance off-road cycling for all ages and skill sets, the project is being headed up by Director Tim Ferguson, father of Cat Ferguson. Crucially, the plan is for the facility to be free-to-use: “The idea is to create and provide a training & race venue carrying no costs to the group or individual putting on a race or running a training… the less barriers, the greater benefit… The community impact Woodside Cycle Centre intends to have is going to be enormous.”

The cycle centre will accommodate not only national and regional races but also teams, clubs, schools and groups of friends to come together for practice and fun in all off road disciplines.

Industry names including Hope and Muc-Off have already leant their support to the project, the latter becoming involved with Woodside’s permanent UCI legal jetwash zone, so all users at Woodside never need to bring a jetwash, water, fuel, etc, which will be provided for free at the centre.
