Cycling Industries Europe appoints new CEO
Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) appoints Paul Walsh as its new CEO, bringing with him over 12 years of experience to his new role. He has built up his experience working in aviation, research, and innovation organisations.
Tony Grimaldi, president of CIE, said: “Paul brings the expertise, the energy, and the strategic insights from the Brussels bubble needed to take CIE to the next level and represent our industry.”
Walsh will be responsible for growing CIE. He has been brought in due to his knowledge base in EU innovation policy, which is seen as a key factor in the company’s future, helping fulfil its mission of speeding up cycling uptake and strengthening the cycling ecosystem across Europe.
Grimaldi added: “We are confident that under his direction, CIE will continue to grow as the trusted voice of the cycling industry at the European level. We are looking forward to developing a ‘World Class Cycling Industry’ in the coming years together with Paul.”
CIE looks to give the European cycling industry a collective voice for promoting active travel across the continent. The organisation works with bike manufacturers, and bike sharing digital services.
Paul Walsh said: “I’m honoured to step into this role at such a pivotal moment. Kevin and the CIE team have done outstanding work in positioning CIE as a leading voice in mobility and industrial policy spheres.”
Walsh added: “Cycling is not only a cornerstone of sustainable transport, but also a strategic European industry with enormous potential. I look forward to working closely with our members to foster greater collaboration and support the continued growth and impact of the industry.”
The CIE continues to aid co-operation in active travel across the continent.
