Modeshift awards organisations for helping active travel
Modeshift National Stars Summit took place on the 27th of March and celebrated organisations across the country for their commitment and work in the sustainable travel industry. The aim is to support, inspire, and champion individuals and organisations who are improving everyday journeys.
The Royal Society in London hosted the flagship Summit is an annual event designed to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and campaigners to network and share knowledge on best practice to help nurture innovative solutions for increasing active and sustainable travel.
Simon Lightwood MP tweeted (now X): “Brilliant to celebrate the work of so many outstanding individuals and organisations in promoting cycling, walking and wheeling at the National STARS Summit. We’re investing nearly £300m to build up to 300 miles of new cycle lanes and footways & deliver our #PlanforChange”
The event links into Modeshift’s ongoing mission to raise both standards in travel planning and improve sustainability in the travel sector across the country. The National Stars Travel Awards recognises significant impact in promoting sustainable transport choices.

Chew Stoke Church School was awarded the National Primary School of the Year due to having ‘embraced sustainable travel as a core part of their curriculum with activities like Odd Socks Walk on School Day, Bling Your Bike, and Bike/Scooter Week’.
