New product round-up: Energy Jellies, Hutchinson goes green & Wolf Tooth Dropper Post

If you’ve a customer in need of an energy pick-me-up, sustainable tyres and a new dropper post, then this new product round-up is one for you, courtesy of TORQ, Hutchinson and Wolf Tooth.

TORQ Energy Jellies

TORQ has officially launched its new Energy Jellies, in three flavours – Orange, Lime & Berries.

Priced at £2.75 (SRP) per packet, the vegan friendly TORQ Jellies are ‘graze-friendly’ igloo-shaped for easy removal from the packet and temperature-stable for use in all weathers (though the chances of anything melting in the current UK summer seem vanishingly small). Each packet of TORQ Jellies contains 6 x energy-rich soft chews, providing a total of 30g of 2:1glucose:fructose carbohydrate. This optimised blend allows fuelling rates of up to 90g/hour (3 TORQ units), in conjunction with any of the other fuelling products such as Gels, organic Bars and Energy Drinks.

Like the rest of the range from the TORQ brand (celebrating 25 years currently), the new TORQ Jellies are available from ZyroFisher now.

Hutchinson Tourag Green

Gravel… check. Sustainable credentials… check.

Hutchinson’s first eco-tyre is an eco-spin on its leading gravel tyre. Performance levels and price are unchanged (yes, there’s no extra cost to consumers picking a ‘green’ option here) to encourage customers to switch. It helps that it’s made in France (assuming you’re stocking it in Western Europe rather than Australia, say) and it utilises EU-sourced recycled carbon black. 90% of the casing compound and 64% of the tread compound is recycled or bio-sourced.

The tyre has been in development since 2019, with the R&D team fixed on a tyre that incorporates as much recycled and bio-sourced materials without compromising on performance or affordability: “The Hutchinson team found that while possible, a tyre made of 99% ‘green’ materials today would sacrifice performance and increase costs, creating a tyre that would fail to meet their high standards and rider expectations. This however is Hutchinson’s long-term goal.”

The Touareg Green will be made available to all Hutchinson distributors and retailers for the same price as the standard Touareg (€49.99/£45.99) and will feature new cardboard packaging.

The tyre market is current seeing a race to (net) zero and this is another welcome addition to the field.

Trade distribution for Hutchinson is via Windwave.
