The Cycle Division open day hailed a success & plans for another

The first Open Day hosted by cycle trade distributor The Cycle Division (TCD) was a success, the firm has told CIN, with a date currently being pencilled in for a repeat in 2025.

Approximately 100 attendees headed to the Huddersfield-set business at the end of April, where warehouse tours, brand reps and a hog roast (and well stocked free bar) were available for visiting bike dealers.

Weldtite, Elvedes, Schwalbe & M-Wave were among the principals exhibiting, with representatives in attendance to give presentations and answer questions from Weldtite, Elvedes and Schwalbe.

The Cycle Division open day saw the entire warehouse open for tours including the wheel building factory: “Dealers were fascinated with the wheel building process & machinery – a short video made on the day has since gone viral on social media.”

However, the distributor remains tight lipped on the brand signing it previewed at the event. It was well received by the dealers who visited, we’re told, but TCD is holding back from mentioning the name of the brand until the range is in stock.

With the firm currently working on a date for a repeat open day in 2025, it told CIN that the mood at the open day was positive despite bike sales continuing to prove difficult for dealers. Attendees were reassured to see TCD’s stock levels, it added, and several dealers noted rising numbers of people getting out on their bikes, including an increasingly popular local MTB challenge seeing more entries this year compared with last.
