Marketing manager appointed by lightweight

German wheel manufacturer Lightweight has appointed Marco Hinzer, 37, to marketing manager and has been functioning in this role since October 1st 2024.

Hinzer’s acquisition will help Lightweight provide high-end full-carbon wheels and aid the companies development. Hinzer, originally from Nuremberg but now based in Munich, has previous experience as a former media sales and marketing manager within the cycling sector.

Well versed in the trends, latest market, and product trends Hinzer brings extensive knowledge of the industry and media to apply to the new network he will be managing. His role will see him support across the entire marketing mix for Lightweight and contribute to the brands on-going repositioning.

His active involvement as a rider and an organiser, being responsible for ultracycling events, shows Hinzer’s passion and commitment to cycling.

Christoph Sawitzki, vice president of Lightweight said: “Marco’s passion for cycling and ultracycling, combined with his marketing expertise and authenticity, were the key factors in my decision to work with him. The chemistry was right from the start, and I was truly excited to see how enthusiastic he was about the Lightweight brand from day one.”

Lightweight has also appointed a foreign trade representative for Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. Martin Grosen, from Bikeshops SE, began this new role for Tune & Lightweight on the 1st of October.
