Survey launched to delve into stolen bike trends

The enduring topic of bike theft is being delved into with an international survey being run by LITELOK, aiming to glean fresh insights into the stolen bikes topic.

Circa 3,000 responses have been registered so far, with the brand inviting many more to take part and help inform about bike theft hotspots and other stolen bike related stats.

Results will be fed back to others working towards tackling bike theft, said the company.

“LITELOK was launched because I know what it’s like to be a victim of bike theft,” said Founder and CEO Prof Neil Barron. “We’ve taken on the challenge of keeping up with thieves. It’s the reason we launched our X range, but that’s not enough.

“As a brand, our goal is to do everything we can to prevent bike theft. We know how much of a problem it is, especially in certain areas. We’re trying to gather data from as many people as possible. That way we can better address the issue and feed it back to others working towards tackling bike theft.

“We want to know if anything has changed and highlight potential improvements in bike security.”

LITELOK has also launched a motorcycle theft survey in conjunction with the bicycle theft survey, with the potential to produce some cross-industry insights.
