National Cycling Show sets sights on ‘education, inspiration and motivation’
This year’s National Cycling Show has doubled down on its aim to bring the cycle world together to educate, inspire and motivate from road to gravel, mountain and commuter riding.
Running at the NEC, Birmingham, the National Cycling Show (brought to you with V12 Retail Finance) has tens of thousands of visitors pre-registered to head through the doors. As you might expect, there’ll be plenty of new product filling the exhibition floor. But, as aforementioned, there will be plenty of attractions for punters and cycle enthusiasts and a jam-packed speaker line-up including many sport and familiar trade faces which have graced the pages of CIN in the past.
The Bike Clinic, run by the Spokes People team, headed up by master mechanic and Cytech instructor and assessors Lee Niven and Darren Hyland, will deliver workshop sessions for both experienced cyclists and first-time tyre changes. Some sessions will take the form of hands-on workshops, where the Spokes People team will run through Cytech accredited practice and advice for rider. Other sessions will feature seminars, workshops, brand-specific demos and ask-anything sessions with professional cyclists, trainers and mechanics.
The Bikepacking and Adventure Biking Zone will delve into the bike as the perfect tool to access the world and explore beyond local routes and segments. At the Bikepacking and Adventure Biking Zone there will be tips and advice on how to get started, including insights into how to travel the world by bike, what gear riders should look for and top destinations, from a schedule of fun, informative seminars, meet and greets and question and answer sessions across the weekend.
The MiRiDER Test Track and Showroom will guide visitors through the full collection of eBikes, with reps talking punters through recent launches and then offering demo eBikes for a spin on the 120m test track. There’ll also be a Pump Track aimed at everyone from beginners to seasoned bike enthusiasts. New for 2024, it is suitable from 8 years upwards. Other features will shed light on bike fits for the curious, a ‘wheels for all’ section and plenty more.
