Chris Froome rammed off road by driver who “followed onto the pavement”

Former Tour de France winner Chris Froome has tweeted about an incident while on a training ride this morning in which he was rammed off the road by an impatient driver.

“Just got rammed on purpose by an impatient driver who followed me onto the pavement! Thankfully I’m okay Bike totaled. Driver kept going,” tweeted Froome.

Thankfully the Olympian – believed to be training in the Beausoleil region in France – is without serious injury.

The deliberate attempt to injure Froome comes just days after Tour of Britain organiser Mick Bennett was also forced off the road in a hit and run.
