Citrus-Lime and VeloLife partner on bike insurance scheme

Cycle insurance specialists VeloLife has partnered with retail solutions company Citrus-Lime to create a new partnership, creating an in-store integration. Citrus-Lime’s cloud POS platform can now be used to provide VeloLife’s cycle insurance in-store.

Store staff can now register customers much faster and easier with the integration into the cloud POS, allowing for bike shops to generate additional revenue. Registering customers to insurance at the point of bike sale reduces inconvenience whilst providing reassurance to the rider the bike in insured from its first ride.

Justin Rodley, director of VeloLife, said: “The integration with Citrus-Lime is the first of its kind and we are excited to announce this exclusive partnership.  Our objective is to simplify the process to help bike dealers generate additional revenue, whilst providing customers with the reassurance that their bikes are covered from the point of purchase. The process of registering customers in-store is simple and eliminates long sign-ups that add time to the sale.”

James Steel, director at Citrus-Lime, added: “Our partnership with VeloLife presents a significant opportunity for our retailers to boost their bottom line. It’s increasingly important for consumers to ensure that they’re covered in the event anything happens to their bikes.

“The likelihood of sorting this out down the line is lower than during the transaction. It’s unwanted, time-consuming admin and confidence in choosing the right policy is often low. Now, with VeloLife being integrated into Cloud POS, our retailers level up their customer service, increase revenues and help customers to find peace of mind that their investment is protected.”

Citrus-Lime has provided point of sales solutions for independent retailers since 2014 when the, at the time, purely tech company realised this service was not being provided. Founder Neil McQuillan’s love for the outdoors led him towards cycle, outdoor and equestrian stores.

VeloLife provides complete cover for cyclists and bikes in partnership with insurance companies Vitality and MetLife. The two founders, Justin Rodley and Jonathan Woods, have a combined 35 years of experience in the sector, across both insurance and cycling.
