Continental launch eBike and eCargo bike specific tyre

Drawing on more than a century of experience designing and manufacturing motorcycle and moped tires, Continental has launched the eContact Plus, specifically developed for the commuting and load-carrying demands of domestic eBikes.

The eBike and eCargo bike specific tyre is designed to keep rolling resistance low, boosting battery range, while providing high puncture protection.

From a design standpoint the eContact Plus has been created to increase confidence and comfort for urban cycling.

Key features of eCONTACT Plus
– Weight: 745g to 1270g
– Dimensions: 50-406 to 62-622
– Load: 85kg to 128kg per tyre, dimension depending
– Technology: SafetyPlus Pro Breaker
– Certified for S-Pedelec use

The latest tyre in the Continental Urban/Tour segment, eContact Plus has been developed for the commuting and load-carrying demands of eBikes, and features a compact tread pattern, keeping rolling resistance low, plus unique tread and construction technologies for protection from puncture hazards such as nails and glass.

Available in a broad range of sizes from 50-406 to 62-622, to suit e-bikes and e-cargo bikes travelling at speeds of up to 50 km/h, eContact Plus can support load-carrying up to 128kg per tyre.

eContact Plus utilises Continental’s SafetyPlus Pro Breaker technology, combining highly flexible rubber with the strength of tightly woven PolyX puncture-resistant fibres. This makes the tyres particularly resistant to cuts and piercing. The tyre’s high elasticity keeps rolling resistance low, prolonging the e-bike battery life so riders get more miles from each charge.

UK distributor ZyroFisher see stock of the eContact Plus becoming available in February of 2023.
