Founders rescue WyndyMilla & Spoon Customs brands
There’s hope for the future of the WyndyMilla & Spoon Customs brands following their administration last year, with the founders moving to secure the brand alongside Gun Control Custom Paint.
In the final weeks of 2024, WyndyMilla and parent Spoon Group Ltd went into liquidation, ceasing operations for Spoon Customs, Gun Control Custom Paint and WyndyMilla. That came after the group had undergone “significant cost cutting measures” to adopt a leaner business model and handle “rising costs and strained cash flow”.
However, last month WyndyMilla founders Henry Furniss and Nasima Siddiqui revealed that they had negotiated with the liquidators to secure the aforementioned brands to “keep them in the family… so the legacy of a couple of lifetimes of work is not all lost”.
The duo sold their remaining shares in the business in 2019, when it became part of the Spoon Group (which included Gun Control Paint). On social media, the founders said: “The Spoon Group… fell victim to the same plethora of headwinds that have seen many sectors of the cycling industry on their knees. The team fought hard, but ultimately took the impossible decision to close the business via liquidation in late 2024.”
The founders did not elaborate on future ambitions for the brands – “there is no grand plan as of yet”.
