Growing British eBike brand Estarli to launch e20 Play at Cycle Show

British eBike brand Estarli is to launch its fourth bike model at Alexandra Palace-set Cycle Show this week.

A sister bike to Estarli’s original e20, the Play is a higher spec model created in response to demand. Weighing under 20kg with all-terrain wheels/tyres and a Shimano 8-speed gearset, the Play is pitched as an everyday bike for the city streets and off-grid alike.

The firm has been struggling to keep up with demand – a rare thing for the bicycle industry in H1 2023 – and has swiftly evolved from a direct-to-consumer brand to building a sizeable retail network. Partnering shops now number in the region of 50 and feedback via that expanding network helped guide the development of this latest launch.

Co-Founder and developer of the e20 Play, Alex Francis, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to release the Play. It’s inspired by BMXs so we have beefed up the frame and evened out the rear stays. The main changes, however, are on the inside. The Play features a next generation inner rotor hub motor generating 50Nm torque. The brakes are hydraulic and the cables are internally routed.”

“It is a daily bike. Commute on it, nip to the shops on it or fold it into the boot and take it away for an adventure. Its DNA is the same as the original e20 but it’s more versatile, comfortable and performant. We want people to unfold the fun and go ride wherever their imaginations take them.”

If you’re at Alexandra Palace in the next few days then you’ll be able to see the Estarli first hand over 21-23 April, on stand W130. Or head to the site – www.estarli.co.uk or email play@estarli.co.uk
