Pinarello in acquisition talks with French luxury label group

It is being reported in Italy that Pinarello are in talks with the LVMH Group about a potential acquisition.

LVMH’s attraction is reported to be driven by the sports cycling brand’s association with Team Sky, a deal running until at least 2020.

Run by Bernard Arnault, LVMH is the parent of luxury labels like Dior, Moet et Chandon, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Kenzo.  It is now reported that sporting segments are of particular interest to the group’s growth strategy.

It is expected, if the deal is signed, that Fausto Pinarello will remain in charge of the bike brand, shifting from chairman to CEO.
