Bike shops average 72 hours for a bike service turnaround

In a ‘typical’ week, bike service turnaround times are 72 hours on average.

With the workshop becoming an ever more important part of bike shop businesses faced with tough trading conditions and the evolving retail market, CIN ran an impromptu poll in its closed Facebook discussion group on the topic.

A one day turnaround was a close second, while far fewer respondents spent up to a week or 1-2 weeks on servicing. Others poll takers questioned how to define a typical week, probably referencing the seasonality of the bike trade or perhaps the belief that the market is becoming more difficult to predict.
