Citrus-Lime’s new reimagined cloud POS back office

Retail solutions provider Citrus-Lime has updated the Back Office of its Cloud POS platform, rebuilding the entire back end of the software to create a faster and smoother delivery for users.

Every piece of code has been rewritten in an effort to improve user experience and create a more efficient, streamlined, and powerful platform. Cirtrus-Lime are hoping the revamp will allow retailers to spend less time on admin and more time running their businesses.

The company undertook the process of reimaging the interface and architecture to help future rollouts, allowing the platform to grow quicker. An intensive development phase was undertaken to lay the groundwork for the new Back Office software.

Drew Jordan, Andy Jordan’s Bicycle Warehouse in Georgia, USA, said: “The new interface feels very intuitive, modern and much neater.”

Selected customers in the UK and US received BETA versions of the software for real-world testing. Once this proved successful, it was rolled out to all customers.

Sanjai Bhatia, director at Chevin Cycles in West Yorkshire, said: “Using the new Back Office is like being given a new car.”

Time taken to complete tasks has been cut, as it is now 60% quicker to check orders and email customers. Creating purchase orders have been sped up by 70%. The overall system is designed to feel like second nature to users, decreasing training time required.

Suzy Weightman, head of software development at Citrus-Lime, said: “This hasn’t just been a refresh, it’s a complete overhaul of the entire platform. The new Back Office delivers speed, clarity and simplicity for a better everyday experience.”

Future software releases will install more easily and be more seamless now due to the revamping of the code. This will allow businesses to deploy new tools they made need to improve business practices.

Weightman said: “We’ve focused on eliminating friction in those daily workflows so that retailers can power through tasks more efficiently. This isn’t about changing how our customers work, it’s about making the systems they rely on work better for them.”

Weightman added: “As a technology company, we always have one eye on the future and this philosophy has been reflected in the architecture of the revised Back Office. We knew we wanted to create something that wouldn’t just exceed current user expectations; we wanted to develop software that delivers exceptional performance and has the capacity to scale so that it evolves as retailers’ needs grow. The new Back Office does exactly that.”

Citrus-Lime recently supported Local Bike Shop Day 2025 to help support small and medium sized businesses.
