CyclingWorld Europe takes aim at 25,000 strong consumer pull
The CyclingWorld Europe event opens for the fifth time in Düsseldorf this March, providing an early chance for global cycling businesses to get in front of an estimated 25,000 visitors.
Space is set aside for more than 300 exhibitors and up to 450 brands on a floorplan that has again expanded to meet demand. The numbers now being drawn and the early Spring showing have proven attractive to brands wanting to get sales moving and Organiser Stefan Maly is now targeting becoming “one of the most important bike shows in Europe.”
For 2023 the area is extended now still by further halls on now approx. 18,000qm. In addition, there will be about 65,000sqm of festival grounds outside where consumers will be able to test around 100 brand’s products.
Awards across six categories now open for entries
Six different categories form the annual awards ceremony. Four of them are reserved for bikes only: Best Cargo-Bike, Best E-Bike, Best Race-Bike und Best Urban-Bike. In the categories Cargo, Race and Urban proposals with “E” and without “E” will be accepted. The Best E-Bike Award is obviously reserved for E-Bikes and pedelecs only. In addition to the “bike-only-categories” the event has two more.
On one hand it’s the “Best Technology“ Award. This is meant for products with a highly technical and innovative characteristics, like electronic components, computers, apps or platforms. On the other hand it’s the “Best Design“ Award, where judges will select the best product design on a non-bike item.
The decisions about the winners of awards are 100% up the bike enthusiasts in attendance. After all proposals are collected the organiser will start a public voting process.
If your brand wishes to be part of the awards then Stefan urges representatives to send in proposals. What’s more, bikes and product do not necessarily have to be from an exhibitor. The bike or product must come from a 2023 production.
The first phase of the award, the proposal phase, has just started and proposals can be submitted from now until January 27, 2023. The voting start is planned on Wednesday, February 1st at 6.00 pm and the end is planned for Tuesday, February 28th at 10.00 pm.
