Elastic Interface: (I’m)perfect: The eco-sustainable pad

Fabric technology leaders Elastic Interface are introducing a new, eco-sustainable, capsule collection of road cycling pads, as part of the brands commitment to commitment to sustainability, whilst also creating a positive social impact.

The brand rightly points out that, for many, cycling is a both sport and a passion. For Elastic Interface, they’d also add that it is now also a byword for sustainability, an eco-friendly lifestyle, and social inclusion. Balancing growth and innovation with a fairer distribution of resources and a mindful use of available raw materials is a commitment that Elastic Interface will always continue to pursue.

Quite a while back the company from San Vendemiano, in Italy, began carefully analysing its materials, processes and manufacturing methods so they could rationalise the use of all energy resources, from water to electricity, and significantly reduce waste and the emission of pollutants.

Elastic Interface set out on this road to a more responsible way of doing business so they can make high-quality, long-lasting products that continue to have less impact on the environment. This decision also aligns with the brands committed to supporting local non-profit organisations that work with disadvantaged people to develop new clothes.

(I’M)PERFECT

Perfection is a matter of perspective. We are all different and our imperfections make us unique. At Elastic Interface®, they believe perfection is about zero waste and putting all manufacturing materials to best possible use.

Elastic Interface has unveiled a capsule collection that includes a pad made with a patchwork of reused fabrics that retain their original performance levels: it’s (I’m)Perfect. Some will remember the laptop cases distributed by Elastic Interface as part of the I’mPerfect project.

This new line primarily has two main goals: zero waste and a positive social impact.

The (I’m)Perfect pad programme aims to reduce material waste to zero by using discontinued fabrics, fabrics with aesthetic imperfections, and reintroducing fabrics that are unusable in the industrial textile supply chain. And all this can be achieved without affecting the pad’s premium levels of comfort and performance.

The other goal is to create a positive social impact by supporting local non-profit organisations that run general interest and socially beneficial activities with disadvantaged people, together developing new items of clothing from fabrics that cannot be used for cycling pads.

The (I’m)Perfect collection introduces a new patchwork version of the Endurance Anatomic HD I’mPerfect pads which are perfect for long-distance rides on and off roads.

Featuring a striking, unique look, these limited edition pads deliver high-end protection and guarantee the same high standards of quality as every other Elastic Interface® product.

Created for long-distance cyclists, these pads feature specific designs and constuctions for both men’s and women’s anatomy, ensuring the ultimate fit and interaction with the saddle. The fabrics in (I’m)Perfect pads undergo a bacteriostatic treatment that prevents the skin irritations and rashes caused by sweat. Flatlock seams are used to enhance pad comfort: the seam lies flat without any bulk to ensure optimum comfort for the rider.

Endurance Anatomic HD (I’m)Perfect is Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certified.

When riders choose the (I’m)Perfect pad, they’re choose protection combined with comfort guaranteed for hours in the saddle and the knowledge that they are helping to protect the environment and the society in which we live.
