Four Pure Electric retail branches taken by The Electric Bike Shop

The Electric Bike Shop is to take on four former Pure Electric stores following the announcement last month that the eMobility biz would tilt towards scooter sales.

Two of the stores will be property in England, with the Southampton and Gateshead branches scooped up. The other two will give The Electric Bike Shop a presence in Wales and Scotland, with the Cardiff and Glasgow locations taken up, respectively.

“Based on the demography and sales patterns, we think these locations will thrive under our brand and we hope to be trading in them by early September. It’s brilliant to be able to physically reach even more new customers and help them realise all of the benefits that riding an eBike can provide,” said Karl Haden, the CEO at The Electric Bike Shop.

In positive news for the associated staff, all of the colleagues at the stores acquired will be offered the opportunity to remain on board.

“Since this announcement, we at The Electric Bike Shop have been working towards securing a number of these established electric bicycle retail sites; with a view to bringing them into our estate. Today we are in a position where we can proudly announce that four stores will be brought into the ever-growing The Electric Bike Shop brand,” he added.

The addition of the stores takes the group portfolio to 13 stores, making it one of the country’s larger chains, in particular in the face of Rutland Cycling recently selling on its portfolio to Specialized.

“We believe that we are now the fastest growing independent bike retail chain in the country. We’re on a thrilling and sustainable trajectory and we’re incredibly optimistic about the future,” added Karl.
