Endura unveils AW2019 collection and Brompton collaboration at CORE
Endura is set to debut its new AW2019 collection at this week’s COREbike, as well as revealing a new partnership with Brompton.
The Scottish cycling brand has announced the ‘Brompton powered by Endura’ collection of apparel and accessories will be presented to dealers and the media at the show for the first time.
The partnership collection features seven premium garmets named after cities across the world which are home to a Brompton Junction store: London 3L Waterproof Jacket, Barcelona Windproof Packable Jacket, New York Insulated Reversible Gillet, Amsterdam Performance Knit, London Windproof Glove, Barcelona Coolmax Reflective Socks, New York Merino Multitube.
The collection is due to hit stores in late summer 2019, Brompton’s new range has been designed primarily with Autumn/Winter (in Europe and North America) in mind but can be used all-year-round. Pricing is yet to be announced but further information will be released in due course.
Jim McFarlane, Founder and Managing Director of Endura, said: “Endura and Brompton are British bike industry brands sharing rich histories steeped in invention, engineering and craft. We are also both committed to continuing a tradition of manufacturing on local soil. Despite coming from completely different product category backgrounds, we found many parallels in the way that we operate both globally and locally, and a mutual respect for each other’s approach. Brompton have a very clearly defined niche and we collaborated to develop a sharp and focussed offer with the reassurance and flair that Endura can deliver.”
AW2019 Collection
Although the brand is entering its 26th year, Endura’s new AW2019 collection remains true to the company’s ethos of delivering substance, innovation and performance with attitude.
Highlights of the collection include thermal products in Endura’s flagship MTB line MT500, additions to the hard-core roadie collection Pro SL, and the reappraisal of the premium Women’s offer, with a vibrant colour palette matching across the collections.
MTB
Included in the AW2019 range with cold winter mountain biking in mind, are the MT500 Freezing Point Jacket and Trousers, which are designed for the rising trend of trans-alp adventures. The clothing features strategic panels filled with lightweight PrimaLoft Gold insulation with a fleece-lined softshell fabric to provide durable warmth, while large vents prevent over-heating. The jacket is equipped with a cosy hood, adjustable hem and big pockets while the slim-fit trousers come with zip pockets, ankle zips and durable crank rub panels on the inner ankles.
Both men and women versions of the SingleTrack Jacket have been revamped, with fresh colour combinations. Dealers attending COREbike will be the first to see production samples of Endura’s new MT500 Full Face Helmet which is set to be released in the summer. The helmet’s full Koroyd core produces a light and well-vented full face with a unique chinbar construction built around an internal skeleton to provide strength without excessive weight.
Road
Endura’s Pro SL collection sees an abundance of strong, innovative additions for AW2019. The Pro SL Waterproof Softshell delivers waterproof weather protection in a road fit with stretch fabric. The fully waterproof taped jacket has a lightly brushed inner for comfort and insulation. It has a long feature list including underarm zipped vents, full length front zip with internal storm flap, triple rear pocket system with hidden zipped security pocket, zipped chest pocket with storm flap, lightweight internal hem elastic with silicone gripper, and subtle black reflective details.
The Pro SL HC Windproof Jacket ties the new for AW kingfisher colourway with the hi-viz blue seen on Movistar kit this season. The high stretch windproof fabric with thermal lining guarantees a great fit as well as supple warmth, and the triple rear pocket system with zipped security pocket stows away all winter riding essentials.
The Pro SL Reflective Gilet delivers night time visibility but without the typical neon commuter style, thanks to its glowing reflective windproof and waterproof front and lower back panels. This is a highly versatile mid weight piece in a figure hugging fit that keeps riders safe while looking good. The gilet easily fits into a back pocket when not in use.
Endura’s AW2019 collection also sees a refresh of women’s premium road kit. The Women’s Pro SL PrimaLoft Gilet offers packable, lightweight core body insulation as a result of its windproof shell panels with PrimaLoft Gold insulation. The stretch windproof back allows unrestricted movement and is equipped with a triple rear pocket system with zipped security pocket. The long-awaited Women’s Pro SL Bibtight is a supportive, insulating mesh vest style bib, comfortable to wear and easy to put on and off. Its unique Dropseat construction with improved stretch allows access for comfort breaks on the move, which is especially handy in winter when riders are layered up.
Gravel
With one foot firmly in road and the other in MTB heritage, Endura’s been graduating in to the gravel market, too. The new MTR Adventure L/S Jersey is an all-rounder, utilising a mid-weight fabric which allows temperature regulation while the Merino content helps keep the jersey fresh on multi day trips. Spray and windproof shoulder panels offer some protection against the elements, and the open triple rear pocket plus zipped security pocket is spray-proofed, too.
A2B
Following the success of the men’s piece in AW2018, Endura is introducing the Women’s Urban 3 in 1 jacket to its Urban range. The versatile jacket offers a clean, understated aesthetic with neat detailing, able to be worn on and off the bike. A waterproof and breathable Exoshell20 3-layer fabric outer shell with bonded storm flap is combined with a detachable PrimaLoft gilet for optional insulation. Ventilation is aided by underarm zipped vents.
Further details include a roll away hood, zipped hand warmer pockets and internal chest pockets, popper cuff adjustment, and discrete reflective panels on the sleeves and rear for 360 degrees night time visibility.
