Get organised: 2023’s key cycle trade events at a glance

2022 was the year where most cycle trade events got back on track after a few turbulent years and, fingers crossed, that trend carries through to 2023. With that in mind CyclingIndustry.news has compiled a list of the key trade exhibitions and events to mark on your calendar…

JANUARY

CABDA West – 10th and 11th, January

For those operating in the American bicycle business, or looking at this market the 4th Annual CABDA West Expo is returning to the Los Angeles Metro Area’s Ontario Convention Center. Find out more here.

FEBRUARY

CABDA Midwest – 8th and 8th, February

The 9th Annual CABDA Midwest Expo returns to the Schaumburg Convention Center outside Chicago, offering a further opportunity for those in the American Bicycle Business to catch up with colleagues and find new opportunities. Find out more here.

CoreBike – 19th to 21st, February

The highest attendance pure trade show on the UK calendar, CoreBike brings together many of the UK’s larger distributors and brands under one roof in the Midlands. To register your attendance, head here.

MARCH

Icebike – March 5th/6th (North) and March 9th/10th (South)

Now split in two in a bid to offer accounts in the north of the UK more opportunity to attend, Madison Sportline’s IceBike* show takes in both the Manchester Velodrome and London’s Tobacco Dock during March. Register your attendance here.

CABDA East – 8th and 8th, March

The 3nd Annual CABDA East Expo returns to the East Coast at the Meadowlands Expo Center. Find out more here.

Cycling World – 10th to 12th, March

Billed as an all round event for all things bike sport, eMobility, transport cycling, cycle tourism and future tech, the Dusseldorf-based Cycling World Event invites both consumers and the trade to take part. To learn more about the 2023 exhibition, head here.

Taipei Cycle Show –  22nd to 25th, March

One of the far-east’s key exhibitions, Taipei Cycle is one of the bike industry’s key opportunities to meet manufacturers and organise supply calendars for the years ahead. Learn more here.

APRIL

The Cycle Show – April 21st to 23rd

Backed up by publisher Immediate Media and the Upper Street Events team The Cycle Show is the largest of the UK’s consumer facing events. Set at Alexandra Palace for 2023, exhibitor enquires can be made here.

MAY

Velo-City Conference – 9th to 12th, May

Less of a trade exhibition and more of a get together of the brightest minds in bringing about change on the ground for cyclists, the Velo-City Conference heads to Leipzig in 2023, pulling on the best in policy making and infrastructure inspiration, among other things. Register here.

JUNE

The Big Gear Show – 8th to 11th, June

Now one of the USA’s largest events for cycling and outdoor products, The Big Gear Show is backed up by the experience of veteran event organisers and builds in both a dedicated trade and consumer element into a large scale outdoor event. Learn more here.

The National Cycling Show – 17th and 18th, June

Settled at the familiar venue of the NEC, experienced cycle trade event organisers are once again putting on a consumer facing cycling exhibition with a range of stage events and chances to handle product for the first time. Contact the organisers here.  

Eurobike – 21st to 25th, June

Europe’s largest dedicated bike show for both the trade and latterly consumer too, Eurobike’s recent relocation to Frankfurt has been well-received, making it more accessible and better connected to a network of hotels. Attended by a huge range of international exhibitors and visitors this is considered among the must-attend events by many in the trade. Find out more here. 

JULY

Tour de France – 1st to 23rd, July

Not a trade event as such, but one for the calendar, nonetheless. The world’s most prominent cycling race kicks off with stage one in Bilbao, before ending 23 days later in Paris where the victor is crowned. See the route and more about the race here.

Le Tour de Femmes – 23rd to 30th, July

Pulling one audience in 2022 at an estimated 2.25m viewers per stage, the women’s Tour follows directly on the back of the men’s. Find out more here.

AUGUST

Malverns Classic – 24th to 27th, August

A trade favourite with a festival atmosphere, the Malverns Classic is a staple of the calendar for enthusiasts who are able to browse a large exhibition area and participate in events for all the family. Find out more about the 2023 event here.

SEPTEMBER

IAA Mobility – 5th to 10th, September

Having drawn significant curiosity with its 2021 event, the bi-annual IAA Mobility event in Munich seeks to become Europe’s largest platform for all things mobility. It now shares what was formerly a motoring centric platform with the bike industry, which it has pledged to give an ever-greater influence at the well-attended event. Learn more here.

Sea Otter Europe – 22nd to 24th, September

The fast-growing European instalment of the classic born in Monterey, California. No longer an imitation, the Girona, Spain event is now a festival with a packed out expo area. Huge crowds were drawn in 2022 with a range of racing and interactive experiences in Europe’s cycling capital. To enquire, contact the organisers here.

TBC – Taichung Bike Week 

Not yet confirmed in terms of 2023 dates, this key event offers up a chance to meet OEMs and organise supply of goods. For updates bookmark this page. 

TBC – Saddleback house show

Typically set in September, performance cycling goods supplier Saddleback hosts retail customers each year, putting on a well-attended event that’s not short of content, nor catering. Check in closer to the time at the distributor’s website for details.

OCTOBER

Ebike Future Conference – 11th to 13th, October
The largest online conference dedicated to electric bikes is already booked in for October, 2023. Last year the event pulled on the knowledge of renowned leaders around the global eBike industry and was an excellent educational platform even for veterans of the business. TBC – World of Emobility (Dates not yet set)

It is expected the World of Emobility Festival, incorporating the International Cargo Bike Festival, will fall around this time of year (2022’s event fell at the end of October). Keep tabs on the event here.

NOVEMBER

TBC Rouleur Classic

Dates are yet to be released by the publisher and event organiser for the 2023 get together. Held at the Truman Brewery in 2022, the event was a sellout and one pitched at affluent cycling fans who came for several evenings of entertainment and browsing of the finest goods in cycling.
