Halfords unveils “world’s first” Amazon Alexa smart bike

Halfords has announced its UK customers will be the first to have exclusive access to its new Cybic Legend bike range, equipped with Amazon Alexa technology.

The smart bike will feature Amazon Alexa connectivity, voice-based turn-by-turn GPS and mapping alongside intelligent cycling performance data. The bikes will also be stocked with personalised light settings, smart security lock and alarm, HD music player and WiFi connectivity.

Halfords customers can even take smart cycling “to the next level” with the E-Legend, a fully electric version of the bike.

The retailer noted better performance in the peak summer period of mid July to mid August last year, revealing that electric bikes were the standout performer in its 1% cycling sales rise in 2018.

At this time, Halfords has not disclosed the price of the smart bikes, or any further details.

The Cybic Legend range is set to be released this summer, 2019. Customers can register their interest on the Halford’s website now.
