This month, Huffy Bikes will partner with non-profit organisation Together We Rise to donate bikes to foster families across the US, in a bid to encourage “family togetherness.”
Together We Rise is a non-profit organisation which strives to given children in foster care a brighter future, with its Build-a-Bike programme providing kids with their own bike.
John Fowler, Senior Vice President of Product, Marketing and Design at Huffy, said: “At Huffy, we encourage people to get out a Live the Ride, and with more than 125 years of experience, we know people have more fun together. Since May is National Bike Month, we thought it was the perfect time to team up with Together We Rise so more kids and foster families can ride bikes, have fun and build wonderful memories together.”
To celebrate National Bike Month in the US this May, Huffy is offering a 20% discount when two or more bikes are purchased together at Huffy.com using the code MAYSAVE, with the aim of encouraging families and friends to ride bikes together.
Donor Relations Manager at Together We Rise, Steven Macias, added: “There’s nothing like the smile on a child’s face when they see a bike and know it’s for them. We’re thrilled to partner with Huffy this month because we know that something as simple as a bicycle can really level the playing field for kids in foster care because it gives them a piece on normal childhoos, in an often uncertain circumstance.
“We’re really excited that in addition to the bikes for kids, Huffy will donate adult bikes so our foster parents can ride, too. Together We Rise exists to create positive childhood memories for youth in foster care and our partnership with Huffy is an avenue in which this will be made possible; creating bonding experiences for children and their families.”
Celebrating more than 125 years in the bicycle business, the Huffy brand is sold at thousands of retail locations, shipping five million bicycles annually throughout the US and more than 40 countries internationally.
