Hutchinson creates all-female 2023 Étape du Tour de France team

Hutchinson has announced its partnership with women’s cycling association Femme et Cycliste, in creating an all-female team taking on the 2023 Étape du Tour de France.

The partnership, part of Hutchinson’s #HerOwnStory campaign to promote women’s cycling, invited twelve women to tackle the 2023 event, with professional athlete-level support.

Last December, Hutchinson and Femme & Cycliste launched a call for applications to join the team, with the objective to train, help each other, and progress together, toward the common goal of completing  L’Étape du Tour de France on July 9th 2023. In doing so, the ultimate aim is to inspire other women to take up cycling.

Twelve different riders were selected, not for their skill or fitness level, but for their commitment to the opportunity to prepare, improve and share their experience. Among the twelve women, there are cyclists of all ages and backgrounds, united by their passion for cycling and their desire to advance the sport.

The team will all benefit from physiological tests, personalised training programs, meetings, recon rides, and regular support to help them progress. Tackling L’Étape du Tour de France, one of the most anticipated amateur cycling events of the year, represents the culmination of this collective commitment.

The Hutchinson – Femme & Cycliste team will compete with over 15,000 amateur cyclists on the 14th stage of the Tour de France, from Annemasse to Morzine, crossing the Chablais massif. An exciting and demanding challenge that will allow these twelve cyclists to push their limits and experience a unique sporting experience. Among the team, 3 are aiming for a top 10 in this prestigious cyclosportive, which follows the route of stage 14 of the Tour de France, and entails a 152 km ride with over 4100 metres of climbing.
