Halfords Group has confirmed that Peter Kimberley, Managing Director for Cycle Republic and Tredz Bikes, will leave the business in the new year to pursue a new (and as yet undisclosed) opportunity.
Kimberley has overseen the expansion of Cycle Republic to 22 outlets from its first store in Euston four years ago. Interviewed earlier this year by CI.N, Kimberley has headed the retailer as it picked up a number of significant brand deals including the likes of Brompton. He also took on responsibility for Tredz Bikes as MD at the start of this year. Prior to that, Kimberley was a key figure at Evans Cycles, spending over four years at the firm, latterly as Head of Retail.
Karen Bellairs, Group Customer & Commercial Director at Halfords, said: “Peter leaves having achieved a huge amount at Halfords Group, taking our important specialist cycling businesses from strength to strength, with his commitment to offering fantastic and exclusive brands and services to our customers. I want to thank Peter for everything he has achieved and for his contribution to our business, and we all wish him the very best of luck. Peter leaves us in a strong position for future growth and we look forward to building on the success he and his team have achieved.”
Peter Kimberley added: “I am really proud of what we have achieved as a team across Cycle Republic and Tredz, and the brands. I know I will be leaving these brilliant businesses in strong hands. I’ll continue to support the team over the next three months and look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
