Halfords teams up with Cyclescheme

Halfords has joined the Cyclescheme network of retailers, including its 373 stores across the UK.

Halfords will be onboarded and available as a Cyclescheme (part of BHN Extras) retailer later this month.

Previously, Halfords offered its own Cycle2Work vouchers and, it has been confirmed, these will continue to be offered.

Cyclescheme has been in the cycle to work game for over 20 years now and it said that it is “ensuring consumers benefit from the widest possible choice of independent, online, and high street cycling retailers”.

Jess Frame, Managing Director of Retail at Halfords, said: “At Halfords, our mission is to make it easier and more affordable for more people to enjoy cycling. This partnership with Cyclescheme gives employees greater choice and convenience, with access to Halfords stores nationwide, expert advice and a broad range of bikes, e-bikes and accessories. Together, we can help remove barriers to cycling and support more people in making healthier, more sustainable travel choices.”

Adrian Warren, Senior Director, BHN said: “At Cyclescheme, our goal has always been to get more people cycling and experience the physical, mental, and financial benefits it brings. Bringing Halfords into our retailer network expands choice and accessibility for employees, making it easier for workforces across the UK to access bikes and accessories through the Cycle to Work scheme. This partnership is also an important step in continuing to build a strong and thriving retail network that supports the wider cycling industry. By working collaboratively with retailers of all sizes, we can help remove barriers to cycling, give consumers greater flexibility and convenience, and continue growing the UK cycling community together.”

Cyclescheme noted that it also offers IntoCyclescheme, an accessible entry point to cycling for employees unable to participate in traditional salary sacrifice arrangements due to National Minimum Wage or Living Wage requirements, enabling more employees to benefit from affordable bike and accessories through 0% interest and spread-cost payments.
