MET E-Mob Mips is its latest urban eBike helmet

Pitched as one of the lightest eBike certified helmets on the market, the new MET E-Mob Mips promises a well crafted helmet for the contemporary commuter.

It features the MET Safe-T Sport fit system, which offers 360 degree adjustment and an individual fit. Straps are well positioned and customisable thanks to an adjustable divider. The ratchet buckle helps avert unwelcome skin pinches.

A rear USB LED light with three modes (steady, pulse, blinking) and a reflective rear decal boost visibility in traffic.

That aforementioned ‘eBike certification’ refers to the NTA 8776 certification, which accounts for higher speed and greater energy released upon impact if a crash occurs while riding an eBike (therefore it is certified for speed pedelecs, aka over and above your standard eBike). The certification means the helmet can dissipate energy more efficiently. A medium E-Mob Mips is 865g.

The MIPS-C2 brain protection system is installed, so the helmet can slide relative to the head in case of a crash, redirecting damaging rotational motion, we’re told. The MIPS Brain Protection System (BPS) is attached inside the helmet between the comfort padding and the EPS.

RRP for the MET E-Mob Mips is £100 and there’s a non-Mips version for £70.
