More than century old independent becomes Giant Chelmsford

Chelmsford’s oldest bike dealer the Cycle Company has relaunched as a Giant brand showroom.

Found on New Street, where the Cycle Company has operated since 1902, the store remains in the family with owner Mike Smith telling local news “we’ve been selling the brand for over ten years, it was the right time to become a brand dealer.”

The branch dedicates half the store to Giant’s female-specific Liv label. Also offered thanks to the re-fit of the the store will be bike fitting services, workshop, click and collect and a fleet of demo bikes.

Mike took on the business from father Ray in 2007 having worked in the store after school when growing up.
