MTCO bike fitting studio launched by Spoon Customs

MTCO – Measure Twice, Cut Once – has been launched by Spoon Customs, as a spin-off bike fitting studio, helmed by master bike fitter, fit trainer and long term friend of the brand, Tony Corke.

Through Spoon, the business has come to know some great fitters. The business now looks forward to welcoming Tony and his colleagues as residents, and visiting fitters, with the MTCO studio providing guest slots, also hosting talks and events, giving customers a dedicated space in which to experience a proper bike fit.

The benefits of a custom fit are numerous, yet many cyclists still don’t routinely fit before buying kit, often leading to sub optimal outcomes including pain and discomfort. As a result there’s a lot of unmet demand for good fit advice. With this in mind Spoon see MTCO becoming trusted fit experts and the new studio a destination serving cyclists from across the UK and beyond.

As part of the service at MTCO, the team will be providing impartial, expert advice before riders buy a new bike, helping arm them with reliable positional data and information that can be essential to buying a bike that works for their needs, regardless of where it is bought from.

The team can also help source a new bike for customers. And, by leveraging the services of the Spoon Customs workshop, also on site, they’ll help customers set it up when it arrives—ideal where customers buy kit from one of the growing number of excellent direct-to-consumer brands.

Of course, fitting goes beyond just picking the right size for a new bike. Here MTCO can also provide advice and feedback on a riders current position, helping them optimise their existing set-up for the types riding they do, to improve performance and power output, overcome discomfort, and reduce the risk of injury.

An up to 3-hour fitting appointment costs £330, during which Tony and the MTCO team work with customers on all relevant aspects of their position and kit to provide riders with a full report with data and advice on improvements you can make.

MTCO will also carry a limited stock of quality products, including POC helmets, Lake shoes, Shimano, Look, and Speedplay pedals, with other parts and accessories available for next-day ordering.

For riders looking to book in for a fit with Tony or one of the team, available dates can be seen, and booked, via www.mtco.bike

The Spoon Group – parent to bike brands WyndyMilla and Spoons Customs, as well as custom paint shop Gun Control Paint – recently closed a financing round worth £740,000.  The funding will enable development of a portfolio of road and gravel bikes, as well as bring in fresh expertise, and deliver on customer experience, furthering the firm’s ambition and capabilities.
