Ortlieb launches new dropper post compatible Seat-Pack QR
Ortlieb has launched a brand new, dropper post compatible, saddle bag; the Seat-Pack QR.
The Seat-Pack QR, loosely based on the brand’s existing waterproof bikepacking saddle bags, comes with Ortlieb’s all new quick release system, enabling fitted and removed from a bike in seconds, without having to worry about Velcro straps.
The 13-litre Seat-Pack QR has a maximum load capacity of 3 to 5 kilograms, depending on the position of the hooks on the saddle rails, features an additional external elastic cord fastener for stowing a gilet or vest on the upper side, and weighs in at 625 grams.
The PVC-free waterproof Seat-Pack QR, produced sustainably in Germany, features an innovative Seat-Lock fastening system which makes it quick to mount, regardless of which bike it’s fitted to. After removal, the fastening system leaves no trace and can even be used with a dropper post as the special adapter clamp only takes up 4.3 centimetres.
The design removes unwanted movement that often troubles traditional saddle bag set-ups. Combined with the anti-abrasion plate, which reinforces the bottom of the bag, and the Seat-Pack QR is well suited to use in rough terrain.
The new addition joins a full range of Ortlieb bikepacking options, constructed with the usual robustness for which the brand is famed. The Handlebar-Pack QR, launched in June of 2021, measures 32 centimetres in width, ensuring it easily fits in between drop bars, yet has an 11-litre volume, weighs just 530 grams, and is designed to top load.
In the UK Ortlieb is distributed by Lyon Cycle.
