Pirelli extend Trek partnership to include MTB racing

The collaboration between Pirelli and Trek has grown with the tyre manufacturer announcing it will supply tyres to the MTB Trek Factory Racing XC, Enduro and Downhill teams.

This partnership builds on the now multi-year collaboration with the Trek-Segafredo World Tour road cycling team.

The athletes of the Trek Factory Racing teams will compete in the most challenging events of their respective disciplines, such as the newly established UCI MTB World Series.

The partnership with the team will also boost the continuous development of new Pirelli’s MTB tyres aiming for ever greater performance, thanks to an intense and mutual exchange of feedback, validation, in-race and out-of-race tests. As the announcement points out, these remain key Pirelli pillars when it comes to racing.

In October of ’22 the brand launched tyres developed in collaboration with multiple Downhill world champion Fabien Barel. The 2 gravity products – Scorpion Race DH and EN – designed for Enduro (EN) and Downhill (DH) racing will form part of the range supplied to the TREK Factory Racing Enduro and Downhill teams.

The new Pirelli factory in Bollate (Milan) will play a key role in the tyre manufacturers partnership with TREK Factory Racing. Here, a new range of racing-oriented Scorpion tyres will be developed and produced.

New tyres will be available from early 2023, with Extra UK as the distributor.
