Rad Power Bikes makes former Sony president CEO, UK service centres open

Rad Power Bikes has turned to former Sony and Dyson President Phil Molyneux as its new CEO.

Replacing Mike Radenbaugh, who steps down but remains Chairman of the Seattle eBike firm, Molyneux was most recently the CEO of Wrethink.

“With Phil now leading the day-to-day operations, Mike will focus on eBike advocacy and innovation. Together they are devoted to accelerating the eBike revolution,” said the business.

2022 has been a time of change for Rad Power Bikes, which after a significant second raise the year prior has gone about making the business leaner, chopping a reported 163 employees in a bid to cut costs as the economy takes on a bearish outlook.

UK on site service partners

Partnerships have begun to roll out in the UK with the Rad Power Bikes brand, which is looking to bolster its aftersales service with the appointment of qualified workshops. Already in place are workshop link ups with Bath Outdoors and Fix Your Cycle.

The Rad Authorised Service Partners will offer an all-round service capability, including supply of spares for all eBikes from the brand. This includes regular maintenance and extends to damage and warranty repair.

The warranty service, including labour, is free of charge to customers upon approval by Rad Power Bikes, which foots the bill.

In addition to the services mentioned, there is also the option of taking a test ride on a Rad Power Bike at these partners, giving the brand a physical presence.

Rad Power Bikes is the largest eBike brand in North America, with a community of more than 460,000 riders in more than 30 countries and thousands of business customers. The company has 10 Rad Retail Stores and is expanding rapidly to serve riders across the U.S., Canada and Europe.
