Rapid Racer Products releases ‘world’s first’ large direct mount mudguard
Rapid Racer Products’ (RRP) has announced the launch of what it claims is the first large direct mount mudguard of its type; the ProGuard Bolt On.
Unlike other mudguards, there are no cable ties or Velcro straps, instead the ProGuard Bolt On is secured to compatible fork arches by bolts with included allen keys. The fit angle is fine-tuned with the tilt brackets, also included in the pack.
Rubber pads on the side of the guards protect fork legs while the sticker recess allows for easy application of RRP coloured stickers to customise the guards.
The ProGuard Bolt On is available in two sizes; standard and mini. The standard offers high levels of protection from mud and spray while the mini is suited to year-round protection.
RRP’s polypropylene mix ensures high durability to meet the demands of modern mountain biking, with guards already being used by professional world cup DH and Enduro racers.
The mudguard is designed for the following forks which have threaded holes in the rear of the fork brace:
- Fox 32, 34, 36, 49 forks – standard and boost (doesn’t fit Fox 40 in 26″ or 27.5″ without adaptor bracket)
- New Marzocchi forks (using Fox chassis)
- Öhlins forks
- SR Suntour forks (may need a separately purchased sleeve pack for those with an unthreaded straight through hole)
