Revonte One motor and auto transmission starts partner scale up

The Revonte One gearbox and motor system, produced in partnership with precision gearing OEM hGears, has begun the early roll out of systems demos with a handful of bike and cargo bike brands, presenting its first collaboration with Ouca cargo bikes at the recent Eurobike show.

Presenting the newly finished system to visitors, the company outlined that broad availability would begin from Q1 of 2023. The one motor for all applications system, Revonte says, is currently in testing with a handful of prospective partners.

For Ouca cargo bikes, the system’s appeal comes from the all-in-one package and the protection offer by having everything enclosed and thus free from tampering.

Inside the casing is a continuously engaged, no maintenance automatic transmission gearbox, a motor capable of delivering up to 200Nm of torque at its peak and a host of smart features that make the system a perfect fit for fleet managers. These include app connected immobilizer theft protection delivered on a 4G network, an alarm, GPS tracking and rider feedback features, including diagnostics and service records.

Bluetooth connectivity is built in as an internal rather than external feature, opening up further associated software possibilities; that includes the ability to fine tune the software for different bike styles and types of riding.

From an OEM perspective the system has appeal not only thanks to the removal of the need for other drivetrain components, but also thanks to the versatility of the battery setup. Built in partnership with AKKU, The 540Wh and 720Wh batteries available from the manufacturer have the same form factor and can be inserted into frames both flat or on the sides. Partners to Revonte needn’t partner the battery to the motor if other options are desired, the system is ‘open in general’ toward cross compatibility, we were told.

All things factored in, the gearbox, motor system and other technology weighs in at 6.4kg. The app is both iOS and Android compatible.
