Schwalbe UK appoints new Sales Promoter for Midlands and Wales

Schwalbe UK has appointed Richard Barling as Sales Promoter, responsible for the Midlands and Wales.

Based in Derbyshire, Barling will work alongside existing Sales Promoters Ben, Grant and Ed, supporting retailers across his area and providing expert technical advice, marketing support and in-depth training on Schwalbe’s full product range.

The postcodes covered by his territory include B, BT, CF, CH, CV, CW, DE, DY, GL, HR, LD, LE, LL, NG, NP, SA, ST, SY, TF, WR, WS and WV.

Before joining Schwalbe UK, Barling spent many years touring the globe as a live sound engineer, before switching careers in 2020 to pursue his passion for cycling. He began as a bike mechanic and later moved into premium e-bike sales with Fully Charged, where he became Sales Manager of the company’s flagship store.

Earlier this summer, Schwalbe announced plans to launch the next generation of Aerothan tubes by the end of 2025. The new range promises enhanced stability and improved handling, while being produced from recycled materials.

Featuring an aluminium valve stem with an external thread – replacing the plastic stem used in previous versions – the new Aerothan tubes are lightweight, offer low rolling resistance and deliver a high level of robustness. They are compatible with the Schwalbe Clik Valve, all standard pumps, the Schwalbe Airmax Smart Bike Sensor and the Bosch Speed Sensor.
