Outdoor technical sock brand Bridgedale launches MTB socks

Following three years of research and development with a team of MTB riders, Bridgedale has launched a specific MTB collection.

Bridgedale has forged a reputation in the outdoor technical sock sector, including hiking and trail running socks, and is now bringing its experience and technical expertise to the off-road cycling market. Established over 100 years ago, the firm manufactured the first army socks during World War One.

The MTB specific collection has socks in three weights, Winter, Mid- Season and Summer and in both men’s and women’s specific fit. They have been created with Bridgedale’s renowned comfort and durability DNA and with a range of unique technical features which were described and called for by their test team.

Amongst these features are two industry firsts, says the firm – “Anatomical vibration dampening footbed” and “Asymmetric Foot specific socks”.

Bridgedale socks, including this new collection are knit in their factory in Newtownards Northern Ireland, where the business has been based for north of a century. The collection will be available to retailers from August/September this year.

Bridgedale has confirmed to CyclingIndustry,News that it will be seeking cycle shops to stock its ranges.

Bridgedale said it is is looking for Sales Agents with contacts and reach into the UK’s premium “destination” cycle retailers to work them to launch the collection. Those interested should contact the MD Mark Brennan –mark.brennan@bridgedale.com
