SKS unveils new pumps using Schwalbe CLICK VALVE-compatible CLIK TEC

Last year saw Schwalbe unveil its CLIK VALVE system for the first time and SKS was quick out of the traps, launching a pump using the new system in time for Eurobike 2024. Now SKS has doubled down and launched more pumps using its own CLIK VALVE compatible CLIK TEC.

Before we go into the detail, it’s perhaps telling that the main media image supplied features a mature and young bike rider. As explained in Schwalbe’s CIN Live seminar last month, CLIK VALVE was designed to be simple – the associated pump head can be clicked onto the valve with little force and removed again, with the whole operation possible with just two fingers. The system came about after John Quintana wanted his children to be able to inflate their own bicycle tyres, frustrated that it was too complicated for them with the “old” valves (technically and for reasons of space on the children‘s bike). SKS is tapping into this intrinsic point and has afforded us the chance to use “unusual” cycle media images that play into the role models concept.

Back to the product details: SKS GERMANY’s CLIK TEC system features an innovative pump head that simply clicks onto the Schwalbe Clik Valve. This eliminates any pressure loss and, with up to 50% higher airflow, makes inflation particularly fast and effortless, said the firm.

After the successful introduction of the technology, the company is now launching additional pump models equipped with the CLIK TEC pump head. In addition to the AIR-X-PLORER CLIK VALVE 10.0, the world’s first floor pump for the Clik Valve, two further innovations are now available: the AIRKOMPRESSOR CLIK TEC 10.0 floor pump with a large precision gauge and the handy AIRFLEX EXPLORER CLIK TEC mini pump for on-the-go use.

“The CLIK TEC system provides cycling enthusiasts with the perfect solution for Schwalbe’s new valve,” explained Marcel Spork, Head of After Sales. At the same time, the company is focusing on durability and resource conservation: “To ensure that existing pumps can still be used, we offer an adapter and valve conversion kits. In addition, the CLIK TEC pump head can be easily replaced. This creates a sustainable and forward-looking system that offers even more convenience around the valve.”
