Platform Media launch Stelvio magazine and digital platform

A new print and digital offering for the road cycling market has launched under the Stelvio banner, as fronted by cycling journalist and author, Jeremy Whittle.

The first issue landed earlier this month, delivering 132-pages with an emphasis on the 2022 Tour de France that just kicked off. Published by Wildfire Sport, part of the Platform Media Group, the parent company has a background in books and publications, including others in sporting categories.

In the first issue, Stelvio celebrates the cultural significance of the men’s Tour de France, profiles Tadej Pogacar and delves into the history and long-awaited return of the women’s Tour de France — the Tour de France Femmes. There are also features on gravel racing, beautiful and lesser-known races, and the power brokers that have shaped the sport, and an exclusive extract from Daniel Friebe’s compelling new biography of Jan Ullrich.

Pitched as a coffee table magazine, the quarterly will deliver professional racing content alongside the more consumer accessible guides on wellbeing, health, adventure and spiritual fulfilment.

Targeted at a global audience, the magazine is available for international delivery at stelvio.media (single issue and subscription options available). The launch issue is available at the discounted single-issue price of £8 + p&p (RRP £10 + p&p) or the discounted subscription price of £32.39 per year (RRP £35.99 per year). Stelvio is also available to any retailers wishing to stock the magazine.

As a companion to the magazine, stelvio.media and @StelvioMag on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram will further deliver on the publisher’s content flow.

We are told to expect digital growth in the form of live audio coverage, podcasts and social media aligned to events, as well as clothing and kit. The publisher has specialist arms dedicated to podcast production, as well as social.
