Advanced eBikes introduce 100% recyclable ‘Reco’ frame to UK market
German e-bike manufacturer Advanced Technologies GmbH has partnered with a UK distributor to bring a very unique e-bike, the Reco, featuring a 100% recyclable frame, into the market.
Advanced Bikes UK – who are actively looking to expand their dealer network – will be at Eurobike 2022 for the launch of the Reco, which has also been entered into the Innovators Award Category for the Eurobike Awards 2022.
As a ‘cycling as transport’ focused e-bike, the Reco comes equipped with the Bosch Smart System, along with a variety of other component options:
- Bosch Performance Line CX motors with 85 Nm of torque
- 500, 625, 750 Wh batteries
- Hub or derailleur gearing
- Chain or belt drive
- Wave or diamond frames
- Rigid or suspension fork
- 30 year frame warranty
- 4 years Bosch warranty (double the standard) for motor and battery
The bikes come in 2 sizes: S-M, L-XL, and 3 colour options; 2 Gloss , 1 Matte, and retail at £4,549 and £4,749 spec dependant.
Of the pioneering frame, Helge von Fugler, founder and CEO of Advanced Technologies GmbH comments: “The great thing about Reco is that the process actually exists and is proven with bikes on the road, it is not a product study or concept…Reco One e-bikes are already being used by riders.”
The Reco frame, injection moulded in Germany, has already won several industry awards for its material use, construction techniques and recyclability. In a completely sustainable process, making new material from old material, the frame can also be ground up, melted down and then manufactured into a new frame or component.
“We can save 68% CO2 compared to a frame made of aluminium or a frame made of new layered carbon fibre” points out Helge von Fugler.
