TI Media has completed the sale of UK Cycling Events to ex-UKCE employee and founder of trail running events company Maverick Race, Ben Macwilliam.
Macwilliam says: “I’m looking forward to getting through this pandemic so we can deliver first class events that riders love.”
Andrea Davies, group managing director, TI Media adds: “UK Cycling Events is passionate about encouraging participation from all abilities with events that show-off the UK’s best routes and landscapes, something we know Ben shares an enthusiasm for. Ben’s knowledge of the UKCE brand and expertise in the space makes him the perfect fit for the company. We wish the team every success for the future and we look forward to continuing to work together on the Cycling Weekly branded sportives.”
Natalie Hicks, general manager of UKCE at TI Media, says: “I’m confident that under Ben’s leadership, UKCE will continue to deliver the excellent events it’s renowned for. I’d like to thank the team for all their hard work which together saw us deliver more than 200 events and host over 250k participants. I wish them every success for the future as UKCE enters the next chapter in its story. I look forward to attending an event soon!”
TI Media, which manages over 40 UK media brands including cycle-trade title Cycling Weekly, acquired UKCE in 2015.
