Vittoria Corsa launches its new wide rim size

Vittoria Corsa has launched its new wide rim size to best use rim-tire aerodynamics, the 700x29c wide rim. The rim has been developed after extensive research with World Tour teams and top-tier wheel manufacturers such as Wout Van Aert and Team Visma.

The wheels are currently available for purchase at retail, with the new Corsa Pros available both in stores and online as well as the Corsa N.ext wide rim, with the Corsa Pro speed wide rim available in a few months.

Sizes correspond to the 29-622 size ETRTO standard for Vittoria’s 700x29c wide rim road tubeless tires. The change is set to improve cycles for the most in need cyclists, with a wide internal section of 25mm the tires maximise aerodynamics and maintains the grip and smoothness characteristic of the Corsa range.

Stijn Vriends, president and CEO of Vittoria, said: “Only Vittoria, working closely with the strongest teams in the world and with leading component manufacturers, could anticipate this trend and design a specific tire.”

Vriends added: “Initially intended for ‘early adopters’ who are constantly seeking the highest level of aerodynamics and performance. However, in the coming years, it will certainly become mainstream, just as happened in previous years with other innovations.”

Once the Vittoria 700x29c wide rims tires are mounted onto wide rims, the two elements form a cohesive profile which minimises micro-turbulence. This extends the company’s range and extends its portfolio of products.

Tires have currently been an ongoing issue for some retailors, with Continental Bicycles having just switched providers.
