DIT declares Weldtite a Yorkshire and Humberside export champ

45 countries is the current total Weldtite currently exports to. It’s international efforts have seen it attract the attention of the Department for International Trade (DIT) which has named it an Export Champion in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

The firm, now a part of the Export Champions Community, develops and manufactures bicycle maintenance products including TF2 Lubricants, Dirtwash and Cyclo Tools from their UK factory on the banks of the River Humber.

The Export Champions Community will play a key role in the DIT’s Export Strategy. International Trade Secretary and President of the Board of Trade, Dr Liam Fox MP, launched the new Export Champions Community at the Board of Trade meeting in Durham at the end of February.

Dr Liam Fox MP said: “The Export Champion Community is an important initiative and its members will play a vital role in creating the culture of exporting that my international economic department is building in Britain by raising the profile of exporting across the  country, expanding horizons, removing barriers to market access and facilitating expansion here in the UK.

“Supported by a community of the UK’s leading exporters, I am confident that our businesses will continue to grow their exports in the month’s and year’s ahead.”

James Buckle, International Sales Manager at Weldtite, added: “The international market continues to grow in importance for Weldtite. We export to Asia, Australasia, Africa, North America, South America and Europe. We are delighted to have been recognised for our successful international track record and seek to encourage business in our region to join us in strengthening the local economy by selling overseas.”

Paul Davis became Weldtite’s new MD at the start of last year and the firm has been making strides in the export market for some time.
