Accell invests further in bike rental market with Hague delivery

Raleigh and Koga parent, Accell Group, is further investing in the business market for bicycle rental and mobility solutions.

Public transport company HTM, from the Hague, has purchased 500 of Accell’s Batavus bikes through B2B service partner Zilt bikes. The company believes the bikes will provide a sustainable and safe way to explore and travel round the city in combination with public transport.

Back in April, Accell signed an agreement with Dutch chain Fletcher Hotels for the delivery of 1,300 e-bikes. This latest venture falls in line with the group’s strategy to focus on the expansion of its market position in the bike rental market.

Director of Accell Benelux, Sten van der Ham, said: “Accessibility is a top priority for people who live and work in a city. HTM provides door-to-door solutions for The Hague travellers. We are proud that they have chosen our bikes for the optimisation of their city destinations.

“More and more companies see us as a professional partner for mobility solutions that we fill in with our wonderful bicycle brands in the Netherlands and abroad. We look forward to working with HTM.”

Accell saw turnover and profit growth in 2018 and has sketched out plans for a ‘three-pillar omni-channel strategy’ to roll out in 2019. The omni-channel strategy will include e-commerce platforms and experience centres, with the first single brand platforms going live this year.
