As electronics firm Blaupunkt launches eBikes, BikeExchange handles sales

German electronics brand Blaupunkt, best known for its catalogue of kitchen appliances, has come to market with a range of electric bikes, for now seemingly set for North American distribution. What’s interesting is that, from the very start, the brand is exclusively utilising BikeExchange, which recently revealed it was directly helping brands reach customers and retailers, in particular those needing assistance moving stock quickly.

This new service was detailed recently in a trading update and, in view of helping provide new channels to market and alleviate stock burdens, is already counting the likes of Decathlon and Bulls as clients. BikeExchange is actively inviting others to consider such a partnership in view of widening routes to market. This, however, seems to be the first case of a new to market brand using the service and on an exclusive basis, to reach partners and customers.

“We know the Blaupunkt name is already well regarded in North America, but most of those folks probably don’t associate it with e-bikes,” says Brian Tedesco, President/CEO BP Technology Americas “Hopefully this new partnership will change that. The BikeExchange platform will introduce us to a nationwide audience of consumers and retailers, while also streamlining the shopping experience for all involved, especially those who go through with the purchase.”

Consumers looking to buy one of Blaupunkt’s foldable e-bikes can start on either website, or, if using the brand’s own site, the ‘buy now’ button will take them directly to the dedicated product page on the BEX website. All pertinent information on the bikes will live on BEX’s site, including full spec, positioning, inventory, shipping options and more, and the remainder of the buying process will take place on the BEX website.

“We’re excited to be working with an iconic brand like Blaupunkt,” says Garret Becker, BEX Head of Sales, “and we’re confident that their outstanding bikes, marketed and sold on our proven platform, will be the perfect combination to drive sales to a large audience in North America.”

Blaupunkt eBikes North America has, over a period of three years, designed and now delivered a range of lightweight foldable eBikes with magnesium frames, high-quality batteries, and a 350w brushless motor on each. In addition, Blaupunkt eBikes North America has built a veteran team of brand builders, sales agencies, ambassadors, content producers, and customer services.
