ASSOS launches cycling enthusiast portal ‘Speed Club’

ASSOS of Switzerland is launching a new cycling enthusiast portal. Speed Club is described as a ‘global collective made up of riders, racers, and ambassadors who share a passion for cycling and are committed to securing its future’.

Centred around an online hub (www.assosspeedclub.com), where members can enjoy access to limited-edition clothing, get insight into the latest apparel being produced in the ASSOS design centre, and have the chance to share rides and get the scoop on the latest ASSOS-partnership team news.

Entry to Speed Club is free and is a way of connecting with other cyclists in the community through local rides, races, and pop-up events held in association with a network of carefully selected partners.

The design for the Speed Club kit came from a collaboration with LA-based tattoo artist Dan Smith, who took inspiration from iconic moto clubs of the past to create a new custom line of ASSOS apparel. The portal will also feature a premium Speed Club experience where members can opt for a paid membership and enjoy custom Speed Club items, access to early release products before general sale, and a specialised shopping experience.

Dan Smith says: “Working with ASSOS was an extremely easy decision to make. With my total respect for the history and strength of the brand’s quality, it was an honor to learn of their appreciation for my art also. Having the feeling of being in the right place when collaborating is so important. I have that with ASSOS and am really looking forward to seeing everything we’ve been working on come to life.”

Chris Mackay (ASSOS Global Brand & Digital Marketing Director) says: “It was always our goal to create an engaged and active club that is available to all cyclists. Our online hub provides members with a place to connect with other riders and join rides either in their local community or when travelling with their bikes and looking for inspiration or recommendations.”

The Club will officially launch in January 2019. ASSOS say they will be working closely with the cycling community to create an inspirational club that encourages riders to get out on the bike, explore, and share their experiences.
